Thinking the Texts by John Fairless

I am nowhere near as well-versed in celebrating this Sunday, known as Christ the King (or the Reign of Christ), as my Bubba. There may be some folks out there in the pews that are kind of like me, saying something like, “I just don’t think I get it!”

Kind of like George Clooney (as Everett T. McGill) when he receives a lesson from Bible-toting salesman, Big Dan Teague.

Kings and sheep and goats don’t resonate with our culture (at least in the USA) quite like the original story did with Jesus’ followers. And besides, I think maybe we make a bit too much
