Well, ladies and gentlemen. It has been an interesting week here in the Florida location of the Lectionary Lab. Hurricane Helene has wreaked her havoc up and down our Gulf Coast and all across the state — and she has her sights set on many of you in the days to come.
While Delmer and I worked to prepare the show and other usual materials, I had to head out of my place of service (in Venice, Florida) pretty quickly and just plain didn’t pick up my traveling laptop. I am writing this message on a borrowed computer. There will be no Lectionary Lab podcast or Premium edition this week.
Our sincerest apologies, as we have sought to maintain some level of consistency with the show and the blog over the nearly 14 years we have been doing this. But, as my friend Forrest Gump says, “It happens.” May your preaching be empowered this week and we will do our very best to get a prompt issue out for next week’s texts.
God bless.
Fr Delmer & Dr Fairless,
Keeping you in prayer that you both along with so many others are safe from this storm. Thank you for all of the hard work you in supporting us in our ministry & preaching.
I've been thinking about both of you this week with the oncoming hurricane (especially given my own memories of being in a hurricane 20 years ago this month with Delmer!). Prayers for protection and well-being for you and your communities.
